Simple Excavation

The data in an application layer does not need to come from surveying. We can construct this layer manually. We recommend using layer 101 and up for this type of layer.

Gemini Terrain has a dedicated function that calculates cut and fill against soil layers and rock layers. The function is active for lines, closed lines, and polygons. We find it in the context menu as Build cut/fill from line/polygon....

Procedure

  1. Create, for example, a closed line for the main surface in the pit and set the desired height for it.

  1. Build cut and fill against the other physical layers with the function .

Now we can use excavation with calculation type volume contour to perform mass calculation between the layers.

  1. Create an excavation with calculation type volume contour in the vertical list field for EFI models.

  2. The program automatically finds the limitation where both layers are defined and calculates the quantities.
