Swept Path Analysis

Introduction

Gemini Terrain has a dedicated module for calculating swept paths dynamically, among other features. The function can be found in the toolset for Planning, design, and execution:

Swept Path Analysis

It displays the swept paths and vehicles in plan view and in 3D:

Swept paths for dimensioning vehicles determine how tight intersections can be made. In the design phase, we must use swept paths and ensure that the required accessibility is met. In other words, swept paths allow you to plan and optimize the dimensioning of roads and intersections during the design process.

A dedicated vehicle editor contains standard vehicles defined in the Norwegian Public Roads Administration's manual N100 Road and Street Design. In addition, you can define special vehicles with your own parameters, for example, vehicles for transporting transformers, wind turbines, etc., i.e., "wide loads" and "long loads."

See dialog help for a more detailed description of its use.

Gemini Terrain also contains templates with swept paths for dimensioning vehicle types. These are described in a separate section.
