Reduction of Rounds

Round Reduction for Conventional Measurements

The program supports round reduction when using a total station, which provides a more precise basis for further analysis and calculations.

When reducing rounds, you can choose to reduce the first horizontal direction to 0, or simply average the directions. The Reduce rounds function is found under the surveying toolset.

When this function is used, the system processes all stations, targets, and instrument positions. Identical rounds are identified and averaged to one station using the least squares method. The averaged station is assigned its own reference, AveragedRefID.

If averaging is selected in the analysis parameters, the program will then calculate the so-called reduced round. This is done by subtracting the direction reading for the zero direction from all direction readings.

The round reduction can be documented in the Reduction of rounds report.

If you want to reset the round reduction, run the Reduce rounds function again and check Reset rounds.
