Fieldbook

Gemini Terrain communicates with most fieldbooks that have existed and currently exist in the market.

The fieldbook import also supports reading observations from specific formats such as KOF.

The fieldbook import is common for both standard application layer and application layer with observations.

Supported Formats

The following formats are supported for fieldbook import:

  • Standard fieldbook formats
  • KOF (Coordinate and Observation Format)
  • Various proprietary formats

Upcoming Support

Work is in progress to support the import of observations (raw data) from:

  • Trimble jobXML files
  • Topcon maXML files
  • Leica HeXML files

Pre-calculation

After import, the program will run a pre-calculation. The pre-calculation searches for known points in the surveying application layer. If the routine does not find them in the application layer, it will search for them in the coordinate registry (KREG).

Tip

Ensure that known points are correctly registered either in the surveying application layer or in the coordinate registry before importing the fieldbook for the best possible results.
