Import of Old Surveying Projects from Gemini Surveying

Projects from old Gemini Surveying are typically imported using File - Import.

Batch Import

The batch import supports Gemini Surveying 5.x files. If we import multiple Gemini Surveying projects in the same operation, they will be imported to separate application layers with names matching the file names. The exception is if we only import one Gemini Surveying project. Then we can change the name of the application layer.

Note

If the application layer exists and contains data, we will get a warning that the application layer will be emptied before import (everything will be completely overwritten). In other words, it is not possible to add data to an existing application layer with batch import. In that case, we must import via the properties dialog.

If we import projects from Gemini Surveying via the properties dialog, we can also choose which object types we want to include in the import:

  • Points
  • Lines
  • Polygons
  • Observations
