Pre-calculation

The traditional surveying calculations such as resection, intersection, free stationing and so on are not visible to the user, but they are used in pre-calculation.

Pre-calculation is performed automatically after the observations have been entered, and the observation sketch is then drawn on the screen. The pre-calculation process also includes automatic search for points. If the point is not found in the project, it is searched for in the Coordinate Registry KREG.

Purpose of pre-calculation

Pre-calculated coordinates serve two purposes:

  1. They are necessary to display the observation sketch on the screen.
  2. They are used as preliminary values in adjustment and detail point calculation.

Pre-calculated coordinates are stored to the points in the project.

Manual pre-calculation

Pre-calculation can also be performed manually from the toolset. A selection must then be made.

Error handling

If after pre-calculation there are point designations among the observations that cannot be pre-calculated, you will receive a message about this on the screen. This can be due to:

  • Typing errors
  • Errors in point numbering
  • That it is not possible to calculate the point

Examine the observations for better determination of these points.
