Point Selection¶
Before performing an analysis or calculation, we must create a point selection (select points to be calculated).
Selecting points for calculation¶
Procedure
- First, we must mark points we want to add to or remove from the selection. We do this using standard DDS functions to mark elements (points).
- Then, we must add marked points to the selection or remove marked points from the selection. We do this using the "+" and "-" buttons on the toolbar.
Marking functions¶
Mark a single element¶
An element is marked by pointing and clicking once with the left mouse button.
Mark multiple elements¶
Multiple elements can be marked by holding down the [Ctrl] key while clicking with the left mouse button.
Mark elements within and touched by a rectangle¶
Multiple elements can be marked simultaneously when using a dynamic rectangle to encircle and touch the elements to be changed. First point to the upper left corner of an imaginary rectangle and left-click - hold down the mouse button. A rectangle with dashed lines appears. Drag the rectangle down to the right and release the mouse button when the desired elements are within or touched by the rectangle.
Mark all elements within a rectangle¶
Multiple elements can be marked simultaneously when using a dynamic rectangle to encircle the desired elements. First point to the lower left corner of an imaginary rectangle and left-click - hold down the mouse button. A rectangle with solid lines appears. Drag the rectangle up to the right and release the mouse button when the desired elements are within the rectangle.
Mark everything on screen¶
[Ctrl] + [A] marks everything on the screen.
Add or remove points from selection¶
To add points to the selection, click the "+" symbol on the toolbar.
To remove marked points from the selection, click the "-" symbol on the toolbar.
Tip
The point selection consists of the points in a selection that can be calculated with the chosen analysis or calculation function. For example, if you want to calculate adjustment points, there is no problem if you include detail points. The program will automatically determine which points within the selection should be calculated with the selected function. It can therefore be useful to mark everything if you want to calculate the entire project.
