Quick Section

In Gemini Terrain, the quick section function is available on all toolsets as it is part of the standard toolset. This tool allows you to quickly create a cross-section through the terrain model.

Using quick section

Procedure

  1. Select Quick Section from the toolset menu
  2. Point to two locations in the screen (left-click to register each point)
  3. The section is automatically generated and displayed in a separate window (QUICKSECTION)

Note

Quick section will automatically include 3D objects in addition to the terrain layers.

Editing quick section

The section can be easily adjusted using the grip handles. After each movement, the section is automatically regenerated.

The middle grip handle is used to move the entire section line. If the function Use automatic rotation is activated, you can easily align the section perpendicular to another line by holding down the [Ctrl] key during movement.

To change the arrow and text size in the section, double-click on the section line itself.

Export and printing

Quick section can also be:

  • Printed directly
  • Exported to various formats such as CFI and DXF/DWG via the File menu
