Export¶
Export SFI Model to Total Station/GPS or Machine Control¶
SFI model can be exported to:
- LandXML (cross-sections)
- LandXML (3D lines)
- Leica DBX database
- Visual Digger LandXML (3D lines)
- Topcon LandXML (cross-sections)
- Trimble DC 10
- VIPS ascii (IND)
- Package
Procedure
- Select the centerline in the plan view window
- Right-click and select SFI properties...
- Open the Import/export tab
- Click Export to field...
- Select format, for example Leica DBX database
- Select layer type Gemini theoretical
- Select layer name, for example Road surface
- Click Folder... and select target folder for export
- Click Export
Export Road Lines to Clipboard¶
Road lines in a project can be exported to an application layer. These can then be pasted into an application layer or in Gemini Survey.
Procedure
- Select the line definition on screen (the SFI file)
- Choose Copy geometry from QE to clipboard from the toolbar
- Select Roads and intersection objects and click OK
- Select the layer where the data should be pasted and right-click
- Choose Paste objects and click OK in the message
Export Road Body to 3D DWG¶
The road can be exported to 3D DWG. The different elements in the excavation will then be placed on separate layers.
| Layer Name | Description |
|---|---|
| VIPS surface group 0 | Main surface |
| VIPS surface group 1 | Carriageway |
| VIPS surface group 2 | Shoulder |
| VIPS surface group 3 | Additional surfaces |
| VIPS surface group 4 | Ditch |
Export Procedure
- Select the SFI model in the project
- Choose Export from the context menu
- Select 3D DWG as export format
- Specify output folder and filename
- Configure layer settings as needed
- Click Export
Stakeout Data Export¶
For construction surveying and stakeout operations, various data formats are supported:
Supported Formats¶
- LandXML: Industry standard for road design data exchange
- Leica DBX: Native format for Leica total stations and GPS systems
- Topcon: Compatible with Topcon machine control systems
- Trimble: Optimized for Trimble field equipment
- VIPS ascii: Legacy format for quantity calculations
Export Considerations¶
Tip
Choose the export format based on your field equipment manufacturer and project requirements.
Warning
Always verify exported data by checking key points and geometric relationships before use in the field.
Info
Coordinate system settings in the SFI model determine the coordinate system of exported data. Ensure this matches your field survey setup.
