Converting Old Road Models

Old Road Models

The parameters in the road model for Gemini Terrain have been updated twice, the last time during the transition from version 11 to version 12. When we open old road models the parameters are automatically converted.

The tables below describe the differences in road parameters before and after conversion.

Transition from RFI to SFI

Parameter Name New Code Old Code Description of how VIPS tables are built. (VIPS surfaces in VEGOVER or other tables)
Superstructure - 20 This code is no longer legal. Removed and logged. This was unfortunately the default in old RFI templates, so we treat this specially: If this was used alone in an old RFI file, it is copied over to use RP_SU_SUBBASE_SOIL and RP_SU_SUBBASE_ROCK, which gives a reinforcement layer alone. It gives the same effect as before.
Cross slope trough bottom(rel) - 34 This code is no longer legal. Removed and logged.
Slope replacement masses - 57 This code is no longer legal. Removed and logged.
Surface blasting max. height - 71 This code is no longer legal. Removed and logged. Now controlled in mass types.
Surface blasting min. length - 72 This code is no longer legal. Removed and logged. Now controlled in mass types.
Correction factor soil - 81 This code is no longer legal. Removed and logged. Now controlled in mass types.
Correction factor rock - 82 This code is no longer legal. Removed and logged. Now controlled in mass types.
Correction factor fill - 83 This code is no longer legal. Removed and logged. Now controlled in mass types.
Topsoil/vegetation - 84 This code is no longer legal. Removed and logged. Now determined by which physical layers exist.
Correction factor deep blasting - 85 This code is no longer legal. Removed and logged. Now controlled in mass types.
Calculation type (1,2,3,4) - 90 This code is no longer legal. Removed and logged. Now determined by which physical layers exist.
Mass balance off/on(0,1) - 91 This code is no longer legal. Removed and logged.

HIGHFILLPARAM is not VIPS compatible, and cannot be edited using any UI. It is also not saved on SFI file. During conversion from automatic – manual mode, current state of terrain heights is reflected to VEGOVER table.
