Mass Calculation¶
The program uses the integral method to calculate areas and masses in building excavations. This is described in detail in the section Integral Method.
Calculating Masses¶
When the excavation is fully defined, you can find the functions to calculate masses and create reports on the context menu.
Procedure
- Select the excavation
- Right-click to open the context menu
- Select the icons for Calculate masses and Create report
Predefined Mass Types¶
The program contains predefined mass types for NS3420.
The mass types are described in more detail below. It must be emphasized that these mass types are a starting point and will not necessarily cover all different combinations you may encounter. It may therefore be necessary to edit standard mass types and/or create new user-defined mass types as needed.
Note
The principles for defining mass types are the same whether you use the integral method or the cross-section method. Mass types are described in more detail in the section Cross-Section Method.
