Junction Design

In Gemini Terrain, we can design T-junctions, X-junctions, roundabouts, and turning areas. Normally, we need two or more designed roads, with the exception of turning areas where we only need one designed road. Loop junctions are a special case that must be handled differently. In some cases, junctions may be so close together that there is no room for two junction objects. In these cases, we can design a composite junction (Z-junction or U-junction).

Example of a roundabout in Gemini Terrain

Junction objects have their own storage structure. We create an XFI file for each junction object.

Junctions are created using the Road Junction function on the toolbar.

Junction calculations are performed in a separate program called Kryss3D.

Junction design in Gemini Terrain is primarily designed for roads described with road parameters (automatic calculation method), but can also be used for manual roads. This is described in more detail in the construction section.
