Water and sewer design: Drawing production

Site plan and longitudinal profile

How you create presentation drawings for plan and profile, as well as manual sheets, is described in more detail in the section Presentation drawings.

Detail drawings

The program has no customized functionality for manhole sketches. But you can produce simple detail drawings with the functions found in the toolset for 3D primitives.

Example of manhole sketch

3D primitives are described in more detail under the chapter about DDScad.

Normal profiles

It can be appropriate to start by constructing a normal profile for the ditch before you start with construction of the water and sewer network. Then you have full control over where the pipes should be located in relation to each other, and you know how the ditch should be designed with regard to mass calculation.

When you are going to draw normal profiles of the ditch, you can use the following method:

Procedure

  1. Create a new drawing in project or User folder
  2. Activate toolset for primitives
  3. Draw the normal profile
  4. Dimension the normal profile
  5. Create presentation drawing and insert the normal profile

Example of drawn normal profile

You can insert your own drawings on presentation drawings with Insert file... from the Insert menu.

Assembly of detail drawings

You can assemble different detail drawings on sheets (presentation drawings). When you are going to produce printouts, you put together all drawings in one or more sheets. To achieve good structure in the project, you use multiple drawings.

Procedure

  1. Create new presentation drawing
  2. Select sheet size for the printout
  3. Retrieve detail drawings and place the sections within the sheet frame
  4. Insert title field
