Quick Start Guide

This page briefly describes how to get started with exporting data to machine control and visualization tools, and how to import "as-built" data back into Gemini Terrain after the work is completed.

The guide is divided into the following points:

  1. Establish the connection between Gemini Connected and integration partner
  2. Create an export rule
  3. Export a file from Gemini Terrain
  4. Receive the "as-built" file in Gemini Terrain

1. Establish a connection between Gemini Connected and machine control provider/visualization provider

Procedure

  1. Log in to Gemini Connected
  2. Go to Project Administration and then Integrations
  3. Select Activate integration
  4. When logged in, select which project you want to deliver and receive data to and from

2. Create export rules on the Gemini Connected website

Procedure

  1. After logging in to Gemini Connected, go to Project Administration and select Export Rules on the left side
  2. Click New export rule for road/tunnel or use an existing export rule that is saved as a template in your organization
  3. Finish by clicking Save

3. Perform an SFI/EFI export from Gemini Terrain

Procedure

  1. Open a cloud project that belongs to the same Connected project you used when setting up the vendor connection in the above points
  2. Open a drawing that contains a road/excavation
  3. Select the road model(s) in the model list, right-click and select Export - Gemini Connected...
  4. Select the rule you created in point 2.2
  5. Click Export

4. Perform an export of application layer data from Terrain

Procedure

  1. Open a cloud project that belongs to the same Connected project you used when setting up the vendor connection in the above points
  2. Open a drawing that contains an application layer with data
  3. Select the desired data in the list, right-click and select Export - Gemini SiteFlow or Visualization Tool...
  4. Select the rule you created in point 2.2
  5. Select export type

6. Click ***Export***

5. Return as-built data

Procedure

  1. In Gemini Terrain, open the dialog for Gemini Connected Activity Overview
  2. On the Gemini SiteFlow tab, you will see returned as-built files
  3. Check the downloaded file and import it to an active application layer
