Gemini QuantiFlow - Validation

Validation of Quantities

Validation of registered quantities is done in the web solution for Gemini Connected under the process Validation. During validation, the registered quantities and associated documentation are quality assured before the quantity proposals are approved and transferred to the quantity history on the web, and Gemini ProAdm for production of measurement certificates, A-notes, and invoicing.

Info

The validation process is an important quality assurance that ensures the quantities forming the basis for measurement certificates and invoicing are correct and well documented.

Registered quantities from Gemini Terrain will be found together with quantities from web in the options:

  • Validation
Overview of registered quantities that have not yet been approved
  • Contract
Overview of all contract posts in the Connected project with progress and quantity history for these. When quantities are approved in validation, the quantity is added to the quantity history and shown here.

Statuses

Registered quantity proposals can go through several statuses:

  • For approval
When a quantity proposal is registered from Gemini Terrain, it is given the status For approval. This will apply to quantity proposals that have not yet been quality assured.

  • Incomplete
Quantity proposals that do not meet expected results during validation, e.g., are registered on the wrong item, documentation is missing or incorrect, the quantity may be incorrectly calculated, etc., are given the status Incomplete. For these, you can also provide a comment explaining why the status was given. This will be visible in Gemini Terrain as the quantity proposal is marked with a speech bubble in the overview of registered quantities in the Document quantity function.

  • Approved
Registered quantity and associated documentation are satisfactory during validation, and are transferred to Gemini ProAdm.

Tip

For an efficient workflow, it is important that validation occurs continuously, and that any comments on quantities with the status Incomplete are followed up as quickly as possible.

In the figure below, we see how these are displayed in the Document quantities dialog.

Validation status for quantities

In the Document quantities dialog, we see validation status for registered quantities in the Status column

Workflow During Validation

A typical workflow for validating quantities in Gemini QuantiFlow is as follows:

  1. Quantity is calculated and registered in Gemini Terrain
  2. Documentation is added to the quantity in Gemini Terrain
  3. The quantity becomes visible under Validation in Gemini Connected web
  4. The contract manager reviews the quantity and associated documentation
  5. Upon approval, the status is changed to Approved and the quantity is transferred to quantity history and Gemini ProAdm
  6. In case of deficiencies or errors, the status Incomplete is given with a comment
  7. With the status Incomplete, the calculator must make necessary adjustments in Gemini Terrain

Note

Communication between the contract manager and calculator can take place directly in the solution through the comment field, which streamlines clarifications and reduces the need for external communication channels.
