Gemini QuantiFlow

Introduction

The Gemini QuantiFlow service is designed to provide complete control over costs and quantities in construction projects. With a focus on eliminating misunderstandings that can arise in a project, Gemini Connected is used as a common platform where project participants have access to:

  • Contract information
  • Various methods for quantity registration
  • Progress overview for quantity production throughout the project phase

You can read more about Gemini QuantiFlow on our website Gemini QuantiFlow.

Overview of Gemini QuantiFlow and workflow in involved solutions

With Gemini QuantiFlow, it's easy to use Gemini Terrain to perform quantity calculations, and register and document these as basis for measurement certificates, after a contract has been made available in the project. In combination with the web solution for Gemini Connected, you will be able to keep track of:

  • Contract
  • Registered quantities
  • Associated documentation

This ensures the quality of the measurement certificates throughout the entire process.

Note

If Gemini ProAdm is not used in the organization, contracts can be established directly in Gemini Connected. You will then have access to the functionality in Gemini QuantiFlow. For full utilization of Gemini QuantiFlow including generation of measurement certificates and invoice basis, you should use Gemini ProAdm in the project.

The functions for registering and documenting quantities become active in the toolsets when the Gemini QuantiFlow service is activated for the project in the web solution.

Production workflow with Gemini QuantiFlow

For Gemini Terrain, the production workflow with Gemini QuantiFlow can be summarized in the following points:

  1. The Gemini QuantiFlow service is activated in the Gemini Connected project, a contract has been loaded and cloud project established
  2. Connect contract posts to mass types and application layer geometry
  3. Register quantities from relevant models for selected items
  4. Generate and add documentation to registered quantities as needed
  5. Quality assure quantities through validation in Gemini Connected web. Make any adjustments.
  6. Produce measurement certificates in Gemini ProAdm if this is used. Generate contract report as csv-file from Gemini Connected web if Gemini ProAdm is not used.

Info

The following chapters will describe the various steps in Gemini QuantiFlow, with a main focus on Gemini Terrain.

Validation of registered quantities

After a quantity has been registered and documented from Gemini Terrain, it will be available for validation in Gemini Connected web. Validation is an important part of Gemini QuantiFlow, where the goal is to reduce the risk of incorrect quantities and incomplete documentation being included in the measurement certificate.

Info

During validation, the registered quantities are quality assured by the contract manager, who can communicate with the calculator through the web solution, and among other things request missing documentation or ask questions regarding registered quantities.

When the contract manager approves quantity proposals and documentation, the quantity history shows a comprehensive overview of the registered quantities. This is transferred to Gemini ProAdm for production of the measurement certificate itself and invoicing of the client.

Involved solutions

As shown in the figure above, the following Gemini solutions can be involved in projects that use Gemini QuantiFlow.

Gemini Connected

Gemini Connected links contracts and other solutions together. Through various Gemini Connected projects, the company's contracts are available, and all registered quantities with associated attachments are accessible. Through the web interface, the contract manager can at any time follow the development of the contract, approve quantity proposals, and perform general administration of the project. Here you also have functions for communication with those who register quantity proposals, so that incorrect calculations can be changed and any missing documentation can be requested before the quantity proposals are approved and become available in the quantity history. This way, the project's quantities and associated documentation undergo quality assurance before they are made available in Gemini ProAdm and used as a basis for further work. The web solution can also be used to register quantities, both from PC and mobile/tablet, as well as generate contract reports for further use with solutions other than Gemini ProAdm.

Gemini Terrain

In Gemini Terrain, we get direct access to all contract and addition posts with their associated descriptions, and the items can in turn be linked to mass types in models or geometry in application layers. Geomaticians can register quantity proposals from both simple and composite mass types in roads, excavations, and intersections, as well as objects from application layers. After registration is completed, profile drawings and mass reports can be generated automatically, and existing plan drawings and other file types can be linked as documentation, before the quantity proposals are validated in the web solution for Gemini Connected.

Gemini ProAdm

By activating the Gemini QuantiFlow service, Gemini Terrain and Gemini ProAdm are connected through Gemini Connected. Gemini ProAdm is one of the market's leading software solutions for calculation, resource monitoring, and measurement certificate production. From Gemini ProAdm, all information about contract and addition posts is handled, and all registered quantities approved in validation are collected. From Gemini ProAdm, complete and correct measurement certificates are generated, forming the basis for A and T notes to the client, based on the already approved quantities, ensuring the contractor payment for all work performed.

Gemini Quantities app

Note

The old Gemini Quantities app is being updated and is not available for use. The web solution is adapted for mobile use and will replace the app while this is ongoing.

Gemini Quantities was/is a mobile application for everyone in the field (machine operators, professionals, foremen, etc.) who may need to register quantities and have access to contracts and descriptions. It provides the ability to register on items that do not require calculation in specialized software, such as quantity counts and lump sums. Throughout the project's lifetime, for example, a work manager will need to register progress and have access to the contract. By selecting a post, entering the correct value, taking pictures with the mobile camera, and preferably registering position, this can be recorded and made available for validation. It is also possible to attach comments to the registration, making it easy to communicate with the contract manager.
