Excel Templates – Problem Descriptions¶
Excel templates contain macros that automatically fill in data in the worksheet. For security reasons, Excel may be set to automatically remove these macros when you open the template. To ensure the macros work correctly, Excel must be properly configured.

Office 2003¶
Excel templates contain macros that automatically fill in data in the worksheet. If Excel 2003 is set to a high security level, these macros will be automatically removed when you open the template. To run macros with the template, the security must be set to medium.
Procedure
- Open Excel 2003.
- Select Tools - Macro - Security from the menu.
- In the window that opens, choose Medium security.
Excel 2003 is now configured. When you open a template with macros, a window will appear asking if you want to open with or without macros. You should always open the template with macros.
