DDScad Introduction

About DDScad and Gemini Terrain

Gemini Terrain is developed by Volue Technology AS in collaboration with Graphisoft DDScad DDScad - a complete BIM software. Graphisoft DDScad provides the platform that the program is built on. The platform constitutes the user interface itself and some other functionality that we use in Gemini Terrain.

Functionality in the platform

Examples of functionality included in the DDScad platform and available in Gemini Terrain:

  • Primitives, text box, and dimensioning
  • Help lines and coordinate geometry
  • Pen, layer, and font tables
  • Insertion of figures
  • Basic DXF/DWG conversion
  • IFC export
  • Rendering

Graphisoft DDScad also creates their own applications such as DDScad Electrical on the same platform.

The DDScad concept

In the section about the DDScad concept, you get a more detailed description of the platform.

Note that DDScad's undo function described in the DDScad documentation is not implemented in Gemini Terrain. The reason for this is that in Gemini Terrain we work with our own storage structures such as application layers, SFI models, intersections, and excavation pits.

Also note that the new toolset for 3D primitives is not fully described in this documentation.
