Tunnel Stakeout Model¶
Tunnel descriptions in SFI models can be exported to:
- IREDES
- LandXML
- Leica DBX database
In Gemini Terrain, we can describe a tunnel using two different methods: manual and parametric. It is manual tunnel descriptions that the program exports to external formats. For a parametric tunnel description, the program will automatically perform a temporary conversion to manual tunnel description before the actual export is carried out.
IREDES¶
A tunnel description in Gemini Terrain can be exported directly to IREDES (XML). The result will be many XML files:
- One XML file for each tunnel contour
- One XML file for the centerline with indication of the contours' placement on the line
Gemini Terrain uses the following naming convention when a manual tunnel is exported:
[filename][contourname].xml[filename]Line.xml
Procedure
- Mark the centerline in the plan view window
- Right-click and select SFI properties...
- Open the Import/export tab
- Click Export to field...
- Check Tunnel
- Select format IREDES 2D (.XML) or IREDES 3D (.XML)
- Click Browse...
- Enter file name and click Open
- Click Export
