Manual Trench¶
Introduction¶
The basis for documenting quantities in trenches is data either from the consultant's design model or our own surveys, but the method for constructing trenches and calculating masses is the same in both cases.
For each trench section, we create line definition data in an SFI model. Gemini Terrain has a dedicated function that does this directly from points and lines in application layers.
We then define parameters for the trench and build it. We can do this using either the parametric method or by using manual road tables.
Finally, we create a mass report. A project often has many trenches for which we need to create mass reports. In these cases, we can use Summary Report... in the toolbox. With the summary report, we can calculate and generate reports for many trenches in a single operation.
