Project Organization¶
Consider the project structure when using the services in Gemini Connected.
Cloud Projects¶
To use the services Gemini QuantiFlow and Gemini Metrix for quantity registration, the Gemini Terrain project must be a cloud project. This way you have a common multi-user project with the same calculation basis, if there are multiple users who are to register quantities.
We recommend working in a structured way in the cloud projects that are used for quantity registration. If the project is of such a scope that it is not appropriate to work in one cloud project, it can be divided into several cloud projects according to area/contract/models, in the same Gemini Connected project. The cloud projects can of course be divided into drawings as appropriate.
Tip
As a rule of thumb, one can say that one project with many drawings is to be considered as more organized than many projects with few drawings.
Warning
Registered quantities contain information about the data source they originate from. Avoid unnecessary copying and moving of files or projects, so that double quantities are avoided.
File Management¶
File Location¶
The files used in quantity registration must be located directly under the project folder or in subfolders of this.
Note
Files at external locations are not available for quantity registration.
File Identification¶
Each file (application layer (.aly/.gmi), SFI model, intersection, excavation) is identified by its own unique GUID. To ensure that files are identified correctly, only use the program's built-in functions to handle files.
Warning
If files from which quantities have been registered are no longer to be used in quantity registration, these quantities should also be removed with the program's built-in functionality before the files are deleted, so that they do not remain and provide incorrect/double quantities.
Version Management¶
Quantity registration takes place from locked files, where the file's version is stored together with the registered quantity. This way you can retrieve the different versions of the files if needed to check the calculation basis for the individual registered quantities.
