Creating and Using Legends

Legends in the project are naturally defined in plan view, where you have access to application layers in the drawing. The process consists of the following main steps:

1. Create a legend in the Legends... dialog, which can be found under Settings - Gemini Terrain - Common Settings on the toolbar
2. Define content by selecting symbols from available application layers
3. Place the legend in the desired view (plan view or sheet in presentation drawing)

A legend consists of two main elements:

• Symbol
• Description

Symbols with associated descriptions are automatically retrieved from the presentation rules defined in the application layer. You can edit the descriptions as needed to customize the legend if desired.

There is a lot of automation built into the way we place a legend on the sheet. We can, among other things, change the size dynamically while available space is automatically filled out. The function for placing legends can be found in the toolbox:
