Application Layers

Filter in Application Layer List

New field for filtering application layers.

Press the X button to reset the filter.

Search in Application Layer List

We now support searching for attribute values in application layers.

When you select an object in the result list, the corresponding application layer is automatically highlighted in the application layer list. If the application layer is in a collapsed group, this group will be expanded so that the application layer becomes visible.

Option to Set Default Application Layers Transparent

Transparency factor (0–1) determines how transparent an object should be.

  • 0 = completely opaque (fully visible)
  • 1 = completely transparent (invisible)
  • Intermediate values provide partial transparency (e.g., 0.5 = 50% transparent)

The program supports two different drawing modes in plan view: OpenGL and GDI. These have different properties and are used for different purposes. Transparency mode on application layers is only possible when OpenGL is enabled. You can find the function to turn OpenGL on/off in the tools menu.

New and Existing Functions That Support Multiple Selection

The functions described below can be found on the Tools menu in the application layer list's context menu.

Transformation of Application Layers

It is now possible to transform multiple application layers simultaneously. Previously, application layers had to be transformed one at a time.

New Function for Using Templates on Existing Application Layers

New function for using templates on existing standard application layers. The option can be used on one or multiple application layers simultaneously.

The Apply template... button is also available from the Metadata, Presentation, and Filter tabs as in the previous version.

We now also get a question about whether we want to keep data that is not found in the template or not. This is to make it consistent with how it works for models.

New Function for Changing Coordinate System

With this function, we can change the coordinate system for many application layers in one operation.

New Dialog with Overview of Used Layers

This dialog provides a unified overview of all layers used in the project, i.e., added to one or more drawings (which do not need to be open).

How to open the dialog:

You can find the entry to the dialog in two places in the program:

  1. In the properties dialog for application layers - the Layers tab - the Used layers... button
  2. In the list of application layers - the Used layers... button

Functions in the dialog:

  • You can choose to display:
  • All layers used in the project, or
  • Only layers used in the current drawing
  • When you mark a row in the dialog, the corresponding application layer will be highlighted in the list of all application layers

Additional function:

If you open the dialog via the list of application layers, you can double-click on a row. This opens the properties dialog for the application layer, with the Layers tab activated.

Optimized Layer Calculation

If we change layer settings for an application layer, only this layer is now recalculated. Not all the others. This will improve performance in large projects with many layers.

Sorting in Application Layer List

There is now support for sorting application layers at all group levels.

Select application layers at a group level and choose Sort from the context menu.

Improved Sorting in Object List

The program now shows a sorting indicator in the column header for the column that is sorted. The selected sorting order is maintained after all operations on application layer objects and when switching between geometry tabs.

When you select objects in the drawing, the selected objects are still moved to the top of the list. These objects are sorted among themselves in the same order as the unselected objects below.

If you click on another column header to sort by a new column, the selected objects remain at the top but are sorted according to the new order.

The sorting order is reset when you make another application layer active.

Ability to Turn On/Off Individual Objects in Object List

This is temporary and hidden objects are reset to visible when you:

  • Reopen the drawing
  • Turn the display of the application layer off/on
  • Fiddle with filters (shortcuts [V] and [F])

Extended Filter for Object List

The Define filter... dialog has been made more accessible. We now also find it on the context menu of the object list.

In addition, the filter dialog has also been extended so that we can now filter on more than one attribute. The filter is set up in the same way, but we can set up filter criteria for multiple attributes (fields).

We can turn the filter on/off with the shortcut key [F], see more detailed description of shortcut keys below.

When the filter is active, it is checked in the menu and marked with an F in the column header.

Shortcut keys:

  • [D]: Open dialog for Define filter...
  • [F]: Turn defined filter off/on
  • [V]: Turn display on/off for listed objects (meaning you can also turn off/on display of filtered data)

Extended Function for Retrieving Contour Polygon

This function now also supports point clouds in addition to triangle nets.

Improved Function for Georeferencing Application Layers

We can now manually zoom to application layers and back again. This can be useful if you don't remember which points you entered. The points are also marked with a small cross and point number, so we can find them again.

New Function: Combine Polygons

New function for combining polygons on the Tools menu in the object list for polygons.

The options for difference are active if we only have two polygons in the selection.

Delete Multiple Application Layers

It is now possible to delete multiple application layers in one operation.

For cloud projects, application layers must be opened for editing by the user who wants to delete application layers.

Small Improvements in Properties Dialogs for Application Layers

Metadata Tab

We now support multi-selection for copying attributes in the Metadata tab. You can now, for example, copy multiple attributes from points and paste them on lines.

In the previous version, we could only take one attribute at a time.

Label Tab

Now supports smaller values for height than 0.1 m.

XREF Menu Options Have Been Moved

These have been moved to a submenu and given a new name.

The context menu is getting long and the Apply template... menu option is now found under Tools together with other multi-selection functions.

New Function: Duplicate

The Duplicate function has been added to right-click in the application layer list, to simplify copying of files. Duplicate creates a copy of the selected application layer, and places it at the top of the group/application layer list. The copy is named automatically, and saved in the project's root folder.

Search for Contract Post in Replace... Dialog

In the Replace... dialog, you can now search for parts of contract post names in the Find what and Replace with fields for S_CONTRACTPOST. This way you can get a list of, for example, all contract posts that contain the word "pipe". Previously, you could only search for the beginning of the post name.
