New Features¶

NVDB API Read V4¶

NVDB API Read V4 is implemented. On September 29, 2025, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration will shut down NVDB API Read V3. We use the API both when creating NVDB as-built application layers and NVDB client application layers for existing road objects.

NVDB Road Network Plus¶

New application layer template for SOSI for NVDB Road Network Plus. NVDB Road Network Plus is a revision of Elveg 2.0. Because Elveg is a management dataset from NVDB, the name is also changed to NVDB Road Network Plus.

Improved NVDB Integration in Gemini Connected¶

We now check if HREF is required when we create a new NVDB as-built application layer. If it is required, we add an HREF attribute to the application layer.

The following rules apply:

If not required (0): Skip HREF attribute in the application layer.
If required (1) and (2): Add HREF attribute to the application layer with correct SOSI value.
If required (4): Add HREF attribute to the application layer without an attribute value (user must decide).

Contract Area in NVDB API Read¶

NVDB client application layers for existing road objects now support both terrain model area and contract area. This means we can now download road objects within the geographically delimited area that the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (or county municipality) has defined as one unit for operation and maintenance contracts.

Georeference Application Layer¶

Now also supports georeferencing of raster application layers. If we select a raster application layer, the program will now automatically zoom to the image and we can start clicking.

Map Sections¶

We now allow more than 8 characters in the filename for map sections. This will allow filenames like Demo4V100, Demo4V101 etc.

Gemini SiteSurvey¶

Reduce first horizontal direction to 0 under control of sets is no longer default on. This is only necessary if the horizontal scale has been adjusted between measurement sets – and is not recommended otherwise.

Gemini RoadVisor¶

Tracking curves for rear axle groups have so far used the center of the rear axle group. This is technically correct, but perhaps not what we are looking for. We now have a choice for this, either Wheelbase or Tire. By selecting Tire, the function now uses the end of the rear axle group instead of the middle for the tire tracking curve.

Gemini QuantiFlow¶

Improved feedback "Not sent due to duplicate files" if the drawing you are trying to register quantities from contains duplicate files. From the original file, you cannot register quantities on items already used in quantity registration from this, while from the duplicate(s) it cannot be registered from either previously used or not previously used items.

Important

Duplicate files occur if you have used Windows Explorer instead of the program's built-in functionality to copy files in the project, which should not occur. The problem is avoided and solved by using Save copy as in the file properties dialog when you need to create copies, and possibly also using the functionality to remove registered quantities from a duplicate file to avoid double quantities.

Bug Fixes¶

Description of some selected bugs that have been fixed.

LAS/LAZ Import¶

The predefined classifications for LAS/LAZ import in the application layer dialog have been removed. The reason is that they often did not fit, especially when other tools used the classes in a different way than the standard. Now we instead retrieve the classifications that actually exist in the file, if you have selected Split by classification.

In addition, two alternatives for batch import in File import have been added:

All points are imported to one point cloud object.
Each class gets its own point cloud object.

Raster Application Layers¶

Zoom on context menu for application layers now also works for raster application layers.

Create Island¶

The Create island function now handles situations where island polygons have coincident edges.

Calculate Cut/Fill from Line/Polygon¶

The program now remembers the settings in the group for building triangular mesh.

Map Legends¶

Added Help button in the dialog to create new or edit existing map legend.

Search for Contract Item in S_CONTRACTPOST¶

Fixed error that allowed selecting chapter headings if you searched for the beginning of a contract item for an application layer object and then pressed [Enter].

DWG Export¶

Fixed error with colors in point clouds becoming wrong if we had clipping against terrain model area on when exporting to DWG (Gemini extensions).

NVDB¶

HREF is now added to objects where this is required.

Cloud Project¶

When downloading Gemini Connected project, any Metadata.json in the project folder will be downloaded before we can open drawings in the project. This is to prevent REF_ERROR if application layers or models have references to attributes in this file.
Fixed error where subfolders were not shown in Gemini Terrain Settings - Project - Synchronized folders if you uploaded a local project with subfolders to Gemini Connected.

Resolved several other errors reported via support and various crash situations reported via BugSplat.
