Field book setup¶
Before communication between GEMINI and the field book can take place, the field book program must be configured. This is done by clicking Setup...
Field book¶
List of all field books that can be used with GEMINI. Select the desired field book from the list. The last used field book is remembered by GEMINI.
Instrument¶
List of all defined instruments. Select the instrument with which the data was collected.
Correction¶
Select the correction code for the measurements. Correction codes are used to tell GEMINI which corrections should be applied to the observations.
Serial port¶
Shows which serial port on the PC will be used for data transfer between GEMINI and a field book.
Warning
Make sure that other equipment, such as a digitizer, is not activated on the same port!
Setup¶
This option provides a dialog where you set the communication parameters.
Use fixed raw data name¶
Specify whether you want to use a fixed name for the raw data file. If the box is checked, the raw data will be saved in the file TMP.RAW. Otherwise, the program will suggest an application-dependent filename.
Theme conversion¶
If the box is checked, theme conversion will be performed during data transfer.
Clicking the Theme conversion button takes the user to the dialog for setting up the conversion table.
Point number conversion¶
If the box is checked, point number conversion will be performed during data transfer. This option only appears for field books where it is relevant.
Clicking the Point number conversion button takes the user to the dialog for setting up the conversion table.
X-offset / Y-offset¶
If the coordinate value is larger than what the field book can handle, enter an offset here. The value is subtracted from the coordinate when reading from GEMINI to the field book, and added to the coordinate when reading from the field book into GEMINI. Specified in meters.
