Import from Logbook

If you are going to use a new logbook (the current logbook is shown in the dialog header), first go to Setup...

Procedure

  1. Click Raw Data File... to select the name of the raw data file.
    • *.raw = raw data file
    • *.gsi = Leica PCMCIA/GIF12 raw data file. The file is already established and is retrieved from the PCMCIA card
    • *.are = GEODAT PCMCIA
    • *.kof = Kof file
    • *.pto/ptc = Pumatec files
  2. Click Get Raw Data to start the data transfer. The logbook data is now read and saved to the raw data file with the name specified in step 1 (Note that the data is not yet saved in internal GEMINI files).
  3. Edit now provides the option to edit the raw data file if necessary.
  4. Click Interpret Raw Data to convert to internal GEMINI format. The number of points, observations, and connections will then appear in the dialog.
  5. Click Save to tell the application that the data should be used.

Note

When using a PCMCIA card, the raw data file is already established. The card will be recognized as an additional disk on the PC, and the raw data file can be retrieved directly from there (in step 1). Step 2, which normally retrieves the raw data file, is then skipped.

Warning

If you are going to modify the raw data file, you must know the logbook and the data types that the logbook uses. It is important that you strictly adhere to the logbook's format. Errors in the syntax of the raw data file can have unforeseen consequences. Use the option to edit the raw data file with caution and be precise.

If administrative data exists, the Admin Data button will have black text. Click this button to read this data.
