Point Number Conversion

A point number in Gemini is an alphanumeric string of 8 characters. However, some field books only use numbers for point numbering. When transferring data from Gemini to a field book, the alphanumeric part of Gemini's point numbering must therefore be replaced with a numeric prefix.

The user can define how a letter pattern of up to 3 characters should be translated to a numeric prefix. The letters must be at the beginning of the point name. Characters that are not defined will be removed during transfer to the field book.

Note

When the raw data file is interpreted, the point numbers will be translated back to the point name.

Warning

If you turn off point number conversion, all characters will disappear during transfer to the field book, and no conversion will occur when interpreting the raw data file.
