BGR Setup

Use this dialog to combine multiple raster maps into a map layer using a raster control file (BGR file).

Where to Find the Dialog

On the toolbar, select Application Layer - Create BGR Setup.

About BGR Files

Map sources are stored in the control file with path, filename, and extent (lower left and upper right corner). To add one or more raster maps to a control file, there must be a corresponding georeference file, such as a SOSI file or mmm file with the same name as the raster files. The exception is TIFF files. You do not need to generate a TFW file to place the images correctly in the terrain, as long as this information is available in the TIFF file (GeoTIFF).

Example

To create a raster control file for five raster files, the program requires that you also have SOSI or mmm files for these.

Map Source SOSI File
U:\raster\Petter.tif U:\raster\petter.sos
U:\raster\Pål.sid U:\raster\pål.sos
U:\raster2\Hans.bmp U:\raster2\hans.sos
U:\raster2\trine.jpg U:\raster2\trine.sos
U:\raster2\Tone.gif U:\raster2\tone.sos

Dialog Functions

Add Files...

Allows you to include multiple raster files. Make sure the correct file type is selected, and that SOSI or mmm files exist for the raster files if needed. Select the files to include, and click Open. The raster files are then added to the list.

Add Mask...

If you want to add many raster files from the same directory with the same file extension, you can use a mask. The mask finds all raster files with the selected raster format and adds them to the raster control file. In the dialog, select the path to the directory containing the raster files and the raster format type.

Edit...

Allows you to change the extent of a map source.

Delete

Removes the selected raster file from the list.

Verify

Checks that all files are valid and exist.

Save

Saves the changes made in the dialog.

Save As...

If you want to create your own control files, you can start from an existing one, modify the content, and use Save As. You must then enter a new filename. The existing control file retains its original content.
