Edit Custom Attribute

Use this dialog to edit custom attributes for grouping in the IFC Explorer.

Where to find the dialog?

In the vertical list field for IFC Explorer, select Edit Custom Attribute.

Available attributes

Predefined attributes for grouping are Name, Type, and Located in.

Using the dialog

Procedure

1. Select an IFC object in the screen or list.
2. Click the + icon to add a new custom attribute.
3. Enter a name and select an attribute from the list.
4. Click OK, and the attribute is now available in the Group by list.

Managing attributes

• Use the - button to remove custom attributes.
• Use the gear icon to edit existing custom attributes.

Custom attributes are saved in the project in the GroupingAttributes.json file.
