Create Summary Report¶
Use this dialog to create a summary report for SFI, XFI, and EFI models, as well as application layers.
Where to Find the Dialog¶
In the toolbox in the terrain model drawing, select Create Summary Report...
Prerequisites¶
The function requires that application layers or models have unique names, even if they are located in different places on your PC or network.
Note
When generating summary reports, the program recalculates the quantities in an SFI model to ensure they are up to date. If one or more of the files included in the report are locked for editing, or are open for editing by another user (multi-user project), this calculation will not be performed.
Material Types in SFI, XFI, and EFI¶
By default, the program reports on NS3420 codes or process codes. In the dialog Gemini Terrain Settings... - Project - Contracts, you can also check Use contracts. This requires that you have imported an XML file with a price request or offer.
Application Layers¶
You can choose which property to report on.
If you check Use contracts in the dialog Gemini Terrain Settings... - Contracts, imported contract posts will be available in the horizontal list field in the S_CONTRACTPOST columns. Only objects with a value for this property will be included in the report.
In some cases, you may want to link an object to several contract posts. Instead of duplicating data, you can link multiple contract posts to the same object. For this, use S_CONTRACTPOST2 and S_CONTRACTPOST3. The same object will then appear several times in the report, but be linked to different contract posts.
Note
The summary report is not related to the statistics function for application layers. The statistics function can be used to report on a combination of several properties and must be run separately for each application layer.
Warning
Polygons drawn clockwise have a positive area in the properties dialog, while polygons drawn counterclockwise have a negative area. The report sums the absolute values of the areas, for example: 10 m² + (-5 m²) = 15 m².
Reports¶
You can choose between three different report options:
- Excel
- Show Mass Balance
- XML
Excel Report¶
The report shows the result for each calculation, as well as a total result for all calculations.

The report spans multiple sheets
Mass report with sheet tabs for each calculation
Material types with the same contract post code are merged in the report. Note that material types for volume are only summed if the balance factors are the same.
Show Mass Balance¶
This option opens a dialog that shows the total mass balance for all calculations, indicating whether you have a surplus or deficit of materials.
XML¶
The export produces an XML file with total quantities for each contract post.

The values marked in red in the figure are exported to the XML file
XML export with total quantities per contract post
The purpose is to export accumulated quantities from Gemini Terrain, so they can be imported into other solutions, for example, to calculate what has been completed during the period.
