Edit Instruments

Use this dialog to edit instruments and their associated parameters.

Where to Find the Dialog

Select the icon for Gemini Terrain Settings..., then choose Land Surveying: Instruments under Common Settings.

Instrument Setup and Storage

A predefined instrument setup is located in the sys folder and cannot be changed by the user. This setup is automatically copied to the User folder when the program is started for the first time after installation. Instruments in the User folder are shared across all Gemini Terrain projects and can be customized or extended by the organization.

Instruments can also be stored in the project folder. The first time you open a project for editing, all instruments are copied from User to Project and can be customized or extended as needed.

Editing Instruments

Procedure

  1. To customize or extend the instrument setup, open the file for editing.
  2. Select the folder (User or Project), and choose Open for editing from the context menu.
  3. The options to create new instruments will then be available in the context menu.
  4. Edit the parameters for the instrument directly in the dialog.

Instruments are stored in the file gmiinstr.ini.
