Edit Coordinate Observation¶
Use this dialog to edit a coordinate observation (point observation). These are coordinates that can be used as observations.
Where can I find the dialog?¶
Right-click in the observation list for coordinate observations and select Properties... from the context menu.
General Information about Coordinate Observations¶
A station is a single measurement of a point. If you edit observations for a point, you are editing the station. Therefore, there is no separate list for stations for coordinate observations.
Transformation of Standard Deviations¶
If standard deviations and correlations are given relative to the geocentric system, a transformation to the current coordinate system is performed during import. If standard deviations and correlations are given relative to the map projection, the original values are copied to the transformed values. In this case, the option Values in map projection will also be checked.
A transformation is also performed when you click OK in the dialog, with one exception: If Std. changed is checked, the standard deviations are not transformed again. Std. changed is automatically checked if you manually change the transformed standard deviations in the dialog or select Calculate standard deviation from instrument in the context menu of the observation list.
Transform observation with standard deviation to map projection in the context menu transforms again from geocentric X, Y, and Z from the measurements to standard deviation in the map plane. Changed standard deviations are also transformed again with this function.
Point ID¶
ID of the point. Use the command button on the right to give the endpoint a new name.
Instrument¶
Selected instrument.
Time¶
Time of measurement.
Ant. h¶
Antenna height at the point.
PDOP¶
PDOP (position dilution of precision) describes the error caused by the relative position of the GPS satellites.
Number of Satellites¶
Number of satellites in the measurement.
Number of Measurements¶
Number of measurements.
North/East/Height¶
Measured coordinates for the point.
Original¶
Std. X, Std. Y, Std. Z: Observed standard deviation for the observation's X, Y, and Z components.
Qxx, Qxy, Qxz, Qyy, Qyz, Qzz: Correlations for the observation.
After Transformation¶
Std. North, Std. East, Std. Height: Transformed standard deviation for the North, East, and Height components.
Qee, Qen, Qeh, Qnn, Qnha, Qhh: Correlations for North, East, and Height.
Omit¶
By checking Omit, the observation will be excluded from the calculation. On the map, this is shown by the color of the observation point's circle changing from gray to green with a cross, while in the list it is shown with the symbol --.
Tip
Omit/restore observations... in the context menu of the coordinate observation list can be used to change the Omit status for multiple observations at once.
