Edit Conventional Observation¶
Use this dialog to edit a conventional observation. If the values are reduced and averaged, this is shown in the dialog's header.
Where can I find the dialog?¶
In the observation list for conventional observations, right-click and select Properties... from the context menu.
Using the Dialog¶
The dialog displays all values associated with a conventional observation and allows editing.
Station¶
The point name of the setup point for a measured half-set.
Target¶
The point name for the target point. Use the button with three dots on the right to move the observation to another target point. You can either point to the new point or enter the point designation.
Prism Info¶
Information about the prism used for targeting. This information is read from certain formats when importing data.
Sight Height¶
Specified in meters. If the field is BLANK, the vertical angle is used only for reducing slant distances.
Horizontal Direction¶
The observation's horizontal direction, specified in gon.
Vertical Angle¶
The observation's vertical angle. It does not matter whether the angle is measured in telescope position I or II. To use the angle for height calculation, both instrument height and sight height must be specified. If instrument height and sight height are blank, the vertical angle is used only for reducing slant distances.
Distance¶
The observation's distance, specified in meters.
Horizontal Distance¶
If the box for horizontal distance is checked, the observation's distance is considered horizontal. If not, the distance is considered slant.
Changed¶
To change an observation value, make the change directly in the data field. The change can be temporary or permanent. For a temporary change, click in the Changed field, make the change, and exit the dialog with OK. The original value is then saved, and to restore this value, click in the Original field.
Omit¶
To omit an observation value, click in the Omit field. The value is temporarily omitted, but by selecting Original, you can restore the original value.
Standard Deviation Horizontal Direction¶
Standard deviation of the measured horizontal direction, unit gon.
Standard Deviation Vertical Angle¶
Standard deviation of the measured vertical angle, unit gon.
Standard Deviation Distance¶
Standard deviation of the measured distance, unit meter.
All standard deviations are transferred directly from instrument parameters when you exit the dialog. If a value already exists, it is not changed.
OK¶
If you have removed or changed a value and exit the dialog with OK, the change becomes permanent. The exception is Omit and Changed, where the original value is always temporarily saved.
