Cut Layer

Use this dialog to cut physical layers in width and height.

Where to Find the Dialog

Right-click in the Group Editing dialog and select Cut Layer...

Cut to the Left/Right of Centerline (CL)

Use these options to cut the layer at a specified distance from the centerline.

Cut Above/Below Centerline

The figures below show how the function works.

Starting point. A = Centerline

Example with the following options: Delete point above, Relative height from centerline: -1.0

Cut Against Layer

With this option, you can cut one layer against another. You can choose to cut on both sides of the centerline, or only the left or right side.

The figures below show how the function works. The red dot illustrates the centerline.

Cutting on both sides and outermost intersection

Cutting on the right side and innermost intersection

Special Case

In some cases, you may only have an intersection on one side. You can solve these situations by checking Allow cutting on the opposite side.

Cut Against Line

With this option, you can cut against a line. These cut lines must be defined in the Extra Lines... command. You can find the function on the toolbox in plan view.
