Mass Types¶
Use this dialog to manage mass types in SFI models, intersections, or excavation pits.
Where do I find the dialog?¶
On the toolbox, select the SFI Properties..., Excavation Pit, or Intersection icon, and the Mass Types tab.
Using the Dialog¶
The list contains all mass types defined in the project.
Available Operations¶
You can perform the following operations with the right mouse button:
- Create... – Create new mass types
- Edit... – Edit existing mass types
- Create Derived... – Create derived mass types
- Create Composite... – Create new composite mass types (SFI only)
- Duplicate... – Copy an existing mass type and make necessary changes
Retrieve Predefined Mass Types¶
With the Retrieve Suggestions... button, you can choose from predefined mass types. The active code set – NS3420, Process Code, or None – determines which mass types are available. The mass types are retrieved from a template file for the selected calculation standard in the Sys directory:
- None: DefaultMassesIngen.sfi
- NS3420: DefaultMassesNS3420.sfi
- Process Code: DefaultMassesProsesskode.sfi
Warning
The predefined mass types are only a starting point and will not cover all situations. It is important to have a good understanding of how mass types are defined. You will often need to adapt existing mass types and/or create your own, depending on the complexity of the project.
Import Mass Types from Template¶
With the Import from Template... button, you can import one or more mass types from other objects of the same type, for example, from an existing road to a new road. The template file can be retrieved from three different categories:
- Factory Standard
- User Folder
- Current Project
If a mass type with the same ID already exists in the object, you will be asked whether you want to overwrite it or generate the new mass with a new ID.
References to Predefined Mass Types¶
