Project Presentation for Material Types

Use this dialog to define presentation rules for the various material types in roads (SFI), intersections (XFI), and construction pits (EFI).

Where to Find the Dialog

In the Format menu in the presentation drawing, select Project Presentation for Material Types in Roads/Intersections/Pits.

Saving Presentation Rules

When you change the presentation rules in this dialog, they are saved in terproj.ini in the project folder. The changes are also saved in ter.ini in the Ini folder. New projects retrieve the presentation rules from ter.ini. This means that the presentation rules in the last project become the project presentation for the next project you create.

Calculation Standard

Roads, intersections, and construction pits can have three different calculation standards:

  1. None
  2. NS3420
  3. Process Code

You can therefore have three different rule sets for the presentation of roads, intersections, and construction pits.

Field

Under Field, specify the property to which the presentation should be linked. The options are Calculation Standard or Material Type ID. If you select calculation standard, you link the presentation to the code values of the calculation standard.

Value

In this field, enter values that should have their own presentation rules. By using the dropdown menu for the value field, you can select predefined values.

To

To is used to set presentation for series. This is normally not relevant for material types you want to distinguish from each other. To set the presentation for a single value, set the From Value and To Value to the same, or omit the To Value.

Factory Default

Clicking Default retrieves a predefined standard for the program (factory default). This is hardcoded and cannot be changed by the user.

Setting Up a Presentation Rule

Procedure

  1. Check what the presentation should apply to: Longitudinal Profile, Cross Sections, or Construction Pit/Intersection.
  2. Select Standard.
  3. Select which field the presentation should be linked to: Material Type ID or Calculation Standard.
  4. Enter a value for the material type in the Value >> field.
  5. Click Add...
  6. Define the presentation rule and click OK.
  7. Repeat for all material types that should have a presentation rule.
  8. Click OK in the main dialog to save the setup.

Material Types Without Presentation Rule

The list contains all material types that have a defined presentation rule. All other material types will receive a standard presentation. This is shown in the Other: window and can be changed with the Edit... button if desired.
