Place Name/Address/Cadastral Number

Use this dialog to search for place names, addresses, or cadastral numbers using the open address API from the Norwegian Mapping Authority.

Where do I find the dialog?

On the toolbar, select the icon Navigate to area... and the tab Place name/address/cadastral number.

Using the Dialog

The dialog is divided into three categories:

  • Place name
  • Address
  • Cadastral number

Procedure

  1. Select the desired category (place name, address, or cadastral number)
  2. Enter search criteria in the text field
  3. The results are displayed in the list below
  4. Select the desired result from the list
  5. Click OK to navigate to the area on the map

Search Rules for Place Names

Search Rules

  • You must enter at least 3 characters in the place name
    Example: Øvr
  • If the place name consists of two words, you must write the entire first word and the first letter of the next
    Example: Øvre e
  • If you want to include the municipality in the search, write , before the municipality name
    Example: Øvre e,Lier

Search by Cadastral Number

You can search for a property by using the property's cadastral number. Only cadastral numbers with addresses are searchable using this API.

The property's address(es) are displayed in the dialog, and you can go to the property on the map by selecting the address and clicking OK.

The cadastral number can be written in various ways:

  • 2100/22/339/0/4
  • 2100-22-339-0-4
  • 2100-22/339/0/4
  • 2100 22 339 0 4
