Tunnel

Use this dialog to design a tunnel.

You can describe the tunnel design using three different methods:

  1. Manual description
  2. Parametric description
  3. Combined description

With the combined method, the program first constructs parametric layers, then manual layers. You cannot define the same layer in both the parametric and manual descriptions. In areas with block descriptions, only the block is used.

Where do I find the dialog?

In the toolbox, select the SFI Properties... icon, then the Tunnel tab.

Using the dialog

Procedure

  1. Select the desired method from the dropdown list.
  2. Click Edit... next to the selected method.
  3. Define tunnel contours or tunnel layers in a separate dialog.

Manual and parametric descriptions are explained in more detail in the corresponding dialog.

Tunnel Blocks

Tunnel blocks are used to define situations that deviate from the standard profile, such as roof niches. A tunnel block can be repeated along the road alignment.

Tunnel blocks use the same dialog concept as the manual description and can be used with manual, parametric, or combined methods.

Info

Tunnel blocks provide flexibility to handle special situations that cannot be covered by the standard profile.
