Copy Cross-Sections¶
Use this dialog to copy cross-sections from the SFI file to a field book or the clipboard.
Where to Find the Dialog¶
In the SFI model, select Import/Export - Copy Cross-Sections.
Export Targets¶
You can copy cross-sections in the SFI file to:
- Field Book
- Clipboard
You can choose between physical profiles or theoretical profiles (the different layers in the road body). All break points in the profiles are included.
Tip
With the Create Boundary Contour option, the program can create a boundary contour (a polygon) at the outer edge of the data. This can be useful in many situations, for example, if you want to triangulate the profiles afterwards.
Note
Vertical surfaces receive a small horizontal adjustment, so you can triangulate the lines afterwards if you have pasted them into an application layer.
Using the Export Targets¶
Field Book¶
This option opens the field book dialog. Here, you can create raw data files and transfer them to a field book.
Clipboard¶
This option copies the data to the Windows clipboard.
The data on the clipboard can be pasted into an application layer in Gemini Terrain.
Example
For example, you can create a triangle model from the cross-sections in the SFI file. The triangle model can be used for volume calculations between layers.
