3D Lines

Use this dialog to view and edit how the centerline and layer names in an imported XML file are linked to the centerline and layer names in the SFI model.

Where can I find the dialog?

On the toolbox, select SFI Properties..., go to the Road Body tab, and open the Line Descriptions table.

Using the dialog

This dialog shows how the centerline and layer names in an imported XML file are linked to the centerline and layer names in the SFI model. You can change these links if the automatic selection is not correct.

All layers in the XML file have their own centerline. The program selects the centerline for the road surface during import. If this is incorrect, you can select another in the Centerline field.

Linking layer names

The dialog contains a table with two columns:

  • Left column: Layer names imported from the XML file
  • Right column: The linked internal layers

The XML file does not contain layer IDs, only layer names. When you import an XML file into the SFI model, the program links the layer names automatically. This usually works, but if the XML file contains special names, you may need to make this link manually. In the Internal layer names column, select the desired layer from the list.

Editing 3D lines

You can also edit the 3D lines in a layer via this dialog. Double-click a layer in the table to do so.
