Special Grading (Gemini Method)

Use this dialog to define grading (the boundary between substructure and superstructure) independently of the road surface.

Where to Find the Dialog

In the toolbox, select SFI Properties..., go to the Road Body tab, and open the Special Grading (simple superstructure method) table.

If no data is defined, grading will automatically be placed parallel to the road surface, according to the thicknesses given in the superstructure table.

Sections

The sections (profile intervals) are specified with From profile - To profile. If there are different values in the from and to profiles, depth and slope in the intermediate profiles are interpolated.

Depth

Depth is given in meters with a positive sign. The depth refers to the starting point on the reference surface. If you enter - (minus/hyphen) in the depth field, you start with the same depth as where the previous surface ended.

Slope Method and Slope

Identical reference surfaces in From profile - To profile must have the same slope method. If you select the slope method 1: As decimal number, you must specify the value in the slope field.

Termination with Rock Slope

Special grading stops at the intersection with the rock slope if it is defined.
