Mass Replacement¶
Use this dialog to define how the slope surfaces for the road surface should be constructed when performing mass replacement.
Where to Find the Dialog¶
In the toolbox, select SFI Properties..., go to the Road Body tab, and open the Substructure table.
Weak loose materials under road constructions will, in most cases, be replaced with, for example, rock fill. Typically, mass replacement is performed when the ground consists of peat, highly humus-rich fine-grained soils, or soft clay. The materials are excavated down to bedrock or firm ground.
Replacement mass (layers 11–16) can be described as separate strata in the terrain model. See the section on strata for more details.
Sections¶
Mass replacement is specified with From profile - To profile. There is no limit to the number of sections (intervals). If there is a gap between two sections, nothing is done in that area.
Design¶
The finishing surfaces are designed in the same way as for removal of topsoil and vegetation.
VIPS Import¶
The import reads the contents of the VIPS table: Mass Replacement.
