Export¶
Use this dialog to export road and tunnel data from the SFI model to external formats.
Where to Find the Dialog¶
In the toolbox, select SFI Model - Import/Export, then Export.
Available Formats¶
- Vips ASCII (horizontal and vertical alignment)
- Anpakke (road project)
- SBG (horizontal and vertical alignment)
Elements That Can Be Exported¶
- Horizontal alignment
- Vertical alignment
- Cross-sections and road parameters
- Tunnel contours
Note
3D lines are handled specially. A horizontal alignment (line definition) in the SFI model can have heights at the points, called a 3D line. If the SFI file does not contain a vertical alignment, the program will create one from the heights at the points. The heights in a 3D line will, upon export, produce a simple vertical alignment without radii.
Format-Specific Details¶
VIPS ASCII¶
This option can create the following files:
.TIT.NYL.IND
Info
There is no support for direct export to a VIPS database, but NovaPoint can read the IND file. The IND file contains the road parameters for the road.
Anpakke¶
This option can create the following files:
.VL1.LPL.JRD.JR4.TVV.OVB
Warning
Only Gemini theoretical layers can be exported to Anpakke. If you want to export an imported VIPS project, you must either copy VIPS theoretical to Gemini theoretical with group editing, or build Gemini theoretical against VIPS physical. When building Gemini theoretical, you must always ensure that the profiles are built the same as VIPS theoretical.
You can choose to export real vertical alignment or theoretical. With the real vertical alignment option, the program splits the vertical alignment into many small line segments. Note that with this option, the program will handle the difference height table by adjusting the line segments according to the values in this table. The difference height table can be found in the properties dialog for vertical alignment. With difference heights, you can override the vertical alignment for parts of the road line, for example, to adapt to an existing road.
When exporting to Anpakke, you may receive a message that information in the SFI model may be lost. Examples of data that may be lost are the difference height table for vertical alignment and the tables for side and surface boundaries for road surface descriptions. This means that these tables will not be included if you import the Anpakke files into another SFI model later.
