Settings for Deep Blasting

Use this dialog to specify settings for deep blasting.

Where to find the dialog

In the toolbox, select SFI Properties..., then the Road Body tab - Special Grading - Deep Blasting - Settings.

About deep blasting

In deep blasting, the rock is drilled and blasted to a level below the final excavation level (planum/subgrade). By default, the depth is the distance from the road surface to the blasting level.

In this dialog, you specify which surfaces (left and right road surface) the minimum thickness should be checked against.

Default settings

When you create a new SFI model in the program, these are set to -3.9999 and 3.9999.

When importing from VIPS, they are set to -2.9999 and 2.9999.

Adjustment of the deep blasting layer

If the depth of the deep blasting layer at any point becomes less than the specified minimum thickness, the deep blasting layer will be adjusted. The deep blasting plane will never be less than the specified minimum thickness below the surface. The shape of the surface and the deep blasting determine where this point is located.
