Data Types

Use this dialog to modify values for standard data types and create user-defined data types.

Where can I find the dialog?

On the toolbar, select the Gemini Terrain Settings... icon, then choose Line Definition Data: Data Types under Common Settings.

The list displays all defined data types, both standard and user-defined.

Standard data types are included with the installation. These are located in the terslibf.ini file in the sys folder.

The first time you create a user-defined data type, the data types from terslibf.ini are copied to the terslibU-Nor.ini file in the user folder.

You cannot delete standard data types from the list, but you can change the values assigned to them. If you have changed the values but want to restore the standard values, click the Use Standard button. The program will then retrieve the standard values stored in the terslibf.ini file in the Sys folder.

How do I create new data types?

Procedure

  1. Click the New... button to create new data types

Note

New user-defined data types are numbered from 10001 and upwards.

Inheriting Data Fields

When you create new data types, you can inherit data fields from standard data types. For water and sewage (VA) and power line, there are fixed rules for using the data fields, and you cannot add extra data fields beyond those inherited.

You can also select the reference line for the pipe, top outside pipe, bottom inside pipe, etc.

Creating New Data Fields

Without inheritance, there are no rules, and new data fields can be created as needed.

Procedure

  1. Select the user-defined data type in the list
  2. Click the New... button to create new data fields

Can we use user-defined data types in predefined sheets for water and sewage (VA)?

The PL command is designed for this purpose. Currently, it does not support user-defined data types.
