Geometric Control Road/Tunnel¶
Use this dialog to compare a coordinate set with surfaces in road and tunnel projects in SFI models. The dialog is common for road and tunnel projects. This means that some options become grayed out, while others can change description depending on what you are working with.
Where do I find the dialog?¶
Right-click in the horizontal list field and select Geometric Control - Road... or Tunnel...
As a starting point for this calculation, you must have an application layer with measured control points and an SFI model with theoretical road or tunnel layers.
Point Filter and Profile Numbers¶
By default, you make the point selection in the horizontal list field, but in this case you have the option to define an additional Point Filter as well. The criteria for this point filter (distance from centerline, start and end profile numbers) should be self-explanatory.
Another aspect of this control is profile numbers. It is common practice to measure several points at approximately the same profile number. It is then convenient that these are also grouped in the report. You solve this with the option Distance between measured profiles.
Using the Dialog¶
Procedure
- Mark the control points in the horizontal list field
- Select Geometric control road or Geometric control tunnel from the right-click menu
- Click Point... to select the SFI model
- Make the desired choices in the dialog
- Click OK to perform the control
Result¶
You get the result of the calculation in the horizontal list window, in a deviation report in Excel, and through a graphical presentation in plan and 3D view.
