Presentation Rule for Point Cloud¶
Use this dialog to define special presentation rules for point clouds.
Note
No triangles are drawn when this presentation rule is active.
You can also limit the number of points in 3D rendering and in CFI/VEC files, for example for map extracts and plotting, by setting the maximum number of points to be drawn.
Available Methods¶
The presentation rule has four methods:
1. Constant Color¶
All points receive the same color, regardless of other properties.
2. Color from RGB¶
Requires that color is imported together with the point cloud.

Example of point cloud with color from RGB
3. Color from Height¶
Points are colored based on height value.

4. Color from Intensity¶
Requires that intensity is imported together with the point cloud.

Setting Up Color Scale¶
For the methods Color from Height and Color from Intensity, you must define the color scale yourself.
Quick Setup of Color Scale
A quick way to do this is:
- Add colors with Add... without specifying values (use value 0 for all)
- When the colors are added, check Interpolate colors between min and max value
- Click Use min/max value from point cloud in application layer
