Presentation Rule

Use this dialog to set up how the program presents values on the screen (collectively referred to as the presentation setup).

Basic Settings

Pen

In this field, select the pen number. The active pen table defines the color and line thickness for all pens. The default pen table for Gemini Terrain is TER.

You can read more about pen tables in the general user documentation.

Line Type

You can choose from the following line types:

  1. None
  2. Solid
  3. Dashed
  4. As defined in pen table

In the options tab, you can select the active pen table for the application layer.

The Solid and Dashed options only use the line color and thickness from the pen table. For dashed lines, you must set values for "Gap - Line1 - Line2 - Line3" in mm.

If the active pen table (selected under the main options tab) contains custom line types with dashes and symbols, you can use these directly by selecting As defined in pen table.

Material

Here, select the material to be used for rendering. Defined choices will be available when 3D view is selected and the rendering toolset is activated.

Advanced Presentation Settings

Cling Type

Cling type is only active for 3D view.

  1. None – the program uses the elevations stored in the application layer
  2. All – the program clings all lines to the terrain surface
  3. Start Points – the program clings start points to the terrain surface

Example

A theme where it is useful to cling to the terrain surface is property boundaries. These often have an elevation of 0 and will disrupt the 3D view if not clung to the surface.

Note

All lines with undefined elevation in the application layer will automatically be clung to the terrain surface.

Smoothing Type

Smoothing type is only active for plan view. This can be useful for contour lines. Akima is the best smoothing method to give contour lines a better presentation in plan view.

Warning

Curve crossing is an unwanted side effect that can occur where contour lines are close together.

Special Effects

You can choose from several different special effects. Normal is used when no effects should be applied to object types (point, line, polygon). If you select another, you get access to the Edit... button.
