Export Object Catalog¶
Use this dialog to export properties with associated values from application layers for use in field books from Leica, Topcon, and Trimble.
Where can I find the dialog?¶
Select the application layer (GMI) in the vertical list field, right-click (or double-click), and choose Export Object Catalog...
Export Formats¶
You can export to:
- Leica HeXML
- Topcon XML
- Trimble FXL
Leica HeXML¶
The exported HeXML code file is placed directly under the data folder on the memory device. When importing on the field device, the codes become global (apply to all projects), and existing codes are overwritten.
Info
For more information about HeXML files and their use, please refer to Leica support.
Topcon XML¶
The exported .XML file with the code library is placed in the field book in the folder \Program Files\MAGNET Field\tpsdata.
To make the code library globally available (in all jobs), select Configure from the main menu, then Codes. Under the Options tab, you can select Code File. Click Browse, and select the relevant code file from the tpsdata directory.
If you want to edit the code library, it is recommended to create a separate job in Magnet Field and import the entire library there (Data Flow – From File and select Data: Code Library). Then you can go to Edit and Layer or Codes, and make the necessary changes. Export again to .XML (Data Flow – To File and select Data: Code Library).
Info
For more information about XML files and their use, please refer to Topcon support.
Trimble FXL¶
To use the FXL file in the field book with the Trimble ACCESS field program, it must be placed in the System files folder (located under Trimble Data).
The file can be transferred using Windows Explorer when the field book is connected to the PC, or synchronized "in the cloud" via TCC/ACCESS SYNC.
Once the file is in the correct location, you can select the FXL file under Property Library when creating a job in the field program.
