Geometric Control – Line

Use this dialog to calculate deviations between measured points and a line in an application layer.

Where can I find the dialog?

Right-click in the horizontal list field, and select Geometric Control - Line...

Use Cases

You can use this function to check:

  • Location of cables/pipes – compare measured points with planned lines
  • Corners in foundations – specialized control for construction projects (2D only)

2D Corner Control

The function for checking foundation corners is only available in 2D and is activated by checking 2D Corner.

Prerequisites

To perform line control, you need:

  • A set of measured points on an application layer
  • Line(s) on another application layer as reference

Using the dialog

Procedure

  1. Select the points in the application layer to be checked.
  2. Right-click and select Geometric Control - Line...
  3. Point to the line you want to compare with.
  4. Choose the type of control:
    • 2D – control in the horizontal plane
    • 3D – full spatial control
    • Elevation – elevation control only
    • 2D Corner – specialized for foundation corners
  5. Enter tolerance requirements for acceptable deviations.
  6. Click OK to perform the control.

Results

The calculation results are presented in three ways:

  • Horizontal list window: Numeric values for each point
  • Excel deviation report: Detailed report with all deviations
  • Graphical representation: Visual display in plan and 3D view
